FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Clear answers for an
early-stage initiative.
These answers describe OWI as it exists now—not as a finished future organization.
What is Open World Initiative?
OWI is a founder-led initiative developing a public-interest ecosystem for discovering, improving, and sharing open projects and research across disciplines.
What is the Grid?
The Grid is OWI’s planned local resource-sharing network for useful real-world goods, reusable materials, tools, and eventually food. Listings and matching are not open yet; the first pilot is being designed around free, local, lower-risk resources.
Is OWI a nonprofit or tax-exempt organization?
No such status is currently claimed. The legal and operating structure must be confirmed before OWI represents donations or support as tax deductible.
Are projects currently verified?
No public project is presented as verified yet. The listing and review framework is still being established.
What is the status of Codex Block 001?
It was submitted to Codex. It has not been accepted and should not be described as complete or independently deployment-authorized.
Can I submit a project?
You can introduce a project or research area through the contact page. Introduction does not guarantee publication, verification, endorsement, or an OWI relationship.
Can I support OWI?
OWI welcomes early conversations about expertise, services, infrastructure, introductions, and future responsible support. Financial acceptance controls are not yet announced.
Who currently governs OWI?
OWI is currently founder-led. A future transition toward independent public-interest stewardship is an intention, not a completed governance change.
Does the contact form send my message?
Not yet. It prepares and copies a message locally. Official email delivery will be added after the contact channel is established.
